    Here is one of the famed Gold 8 Escudos of Chile. A colonial issue struck under Spanish control. One of the famed Gold Doubloons of pirate lore. Important and highly sought after 1776 date. One flaw in the upper left hand corner of the reverse shield noted. Issued for the Spanish king, Carlos III, who ruled Chile, 1759-1788. Santiago, (So), mint, assayer, "DA". Some minor field marks present, yet a strong portrait of the king. This large Doubloon contains.7841 of an ounce of pure Gold. Cataloged as KM-27. We will begin at 95.
