A native of Austin, Texas, Conor Jackson played for the University of California, and was selected in Round 1 (#19 overall) of the 2003 MLB Amateur Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, and reached the Major Leagues with that team in 2005. He continued to play for the Diamondbacks till mid-way through the 2010 season, when he was traded to the Oakland Athletics. Jackson played in the Majors for the Athletics in 2010 and in 2011 for the A's and the Boston Red Sox. He subsequently played for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox) and the Triple-A Norfolk Tides (Baltimore Orioles).
