    Description

For a time, South Bend was the sole distributor of the French-made Sup-Matic series of spinning reels from the Frank and Pignard Company. If you look at the elbow of the handle, you will see a black knob that changes the speed of retrieve from 4.1 to 1 to the slower 2.75 to 1 for better cranking once the fish is hooked. The knob pulls straight out for the change. There are a lot of variations in color and other features for the 606 (not 2-speed) and 707 reels. In fact, this box is actually for the tan colored 707G models, but I'm sure this box was close enough to send out the reel for an order. The reel is definitely different. After picking up the line with your finger to cast, you must move the bail downward to cast. Also, the spool comes off when you push in and give a 1/4 turn. The parts kit has a good cross-section of any repair you would need to make, and the spare spool in the marked case is loaded with line. The box is excellent, and the reel shows less than normal use. The kit with the box, spool, and reel make for a great display. Priority mail with shipping.
