Nothing wrong with the Utopia Kitchen french press by itself, but I had gotten attached to my old one and was glad to be able to rebuild it on the cheap.

This works really well. I really enjoy sitting down with a huge presser full of tea on a cold day like I used to in good ole Siberia. I brok the first one I owned after a few months but that was glass. I think this is sturdier and will last a good while.

For a French Press it's quite a bargain. I make coffee almost every single day in this thing. As a college student my budget is tight, so I was really happy to find such a nice one for so cheap. I don't really use the scoop, I just dump my grinds in until it feels right, (totally correlated to how tired I am and how long my day is going to be) but it's nice that it came with one in case you are someone who cares about how much caffeine goes in your body.
