Game Worn Dodger Road Grey Jersey. Reggie Smith 1980 w/AS Patch.
Reggie Smith was a 7 time all Star that played 17 years in the Major leagues and 6 seasons with the Dodgers. He was a World Series Champion in 1981.
This is a Mizuno made grey road jersey that is in great shape with wash wear and pilling. Mizuno only made the Dodgers uniforms in 1980.The All Star patch shows wash pucker wear, and all the letters and numbers are sewn on. The grey buttons also have “World Wide” written on them as all 1980 Dodger Mizuno jerseys do.
The Mizuno manufacturing label is in the collar and made for Goodman & Sons, but has no size flag tag that was on most of the jersey made in 1980.
I purchased this jersey from a well know collector at The National Collectors show years ago. He had a few other Dodger jerseys an one other had no tags as well. I asked around and was told that it was know that not all jerseys had that size number tag. I also noticed that the tag might have been taken off. I’ve posted pictures showing remnants of thread right where the size tag would have been.
From Pit to Pit it measures 21 inches. From top button to bottom front tail measures 24 inches.
No real way to tell if that happened, but I left the satisfied that it was a good game worn jersey, and that’s how it’s presented.
