    Description

Game Worn vintage 1967 Boston Red Sox Jersey.
This is your chance to own an authentic Boston Red Sox jersey from 1967, when the Red Sox made their first trip to the World Series since 1946. I am selling this Jerseys for a friend who collected Game Worn jerseys over 50 years ago. So I can’t guarantee that Mike Andrews ever actually wore this jersey, but it was made for him to wear. The Red Sox had a simple jersey and the only thing differentiating one players jersey from the next was the size and number on the back. The number on this one (#2) was Mike Andrews number and is fairly uneven in the cut of the bark blue felt outline and the stitching. I’ve been told that back then equipment managers carried a spare pre-made jersey for each player but also brought along spare jerseys in various sizes which they could sew the players number on if needed. I suspect that the equipment managers were not as good at a sewing machine as were the professional seamstresses that normally personalized each Jersey. This jersey has the correct tag showing it was made by McAuliffe, the correct size tag “44” and the correct year tag “67”. Red Sox fans know how important Mike Andrews was to the team that year especially during the Pennant run in August and September. If you purchase this and want to have it authenticated I will guarantee it is authentic, with a money back guarantee.
