    Description

    For the discriminating collector, is this
    classic vintage Mitchell
    308UL, FIRST VERSION, FIRST RELEASE spinning reel that is in
    highly collectible condition. Based on the serial# 076839,
    this reel was made in France in 1958. The Patent# is 2.726.052
    and was issued on December 5, 1955. As you can see, "FRONCE"
    is molded into the side of the housing. Also this version
    has
    the hex
    nut on the axel vs. the slated nut found on the
    earlier reels. This reel was made prior to "FRANCE" being stamped
    on the foot.
    Mechanically, the reel works perfectly. The bail is extremely strong
    and snappy, the anti-reverse and clicker work perfectly when
    properly engaged. Drag also works correctly.
    Cosmetically, the reel is in nice condition. the chrome on the bail wire
    is pitted as shown in the pictures. The paint has scuff marks on the rotor, side
    plate, the top and bottom of the foot and on the side plate.
