Vintage Garcia Mitchell 408 Spinning Reel High Speed France! 279160 Read!!!

Description

Nice working reel for all functions (except see qualifier below).  It doesn't show a whole lot of use in the way of marks or scratches so it has a very nice appearance.  Hold it in the light just right and the color has a dark blue shade appearance, rather than black.  Reel foot number is 279160.  See photos for description (white reflective lines, bright spots or glare specks in the photos are due to the camera flash).  I will start the bidding at Only Dollar with No Reserve.  The winner will pay the First Mail Shipping Charge according to location.
QUALIFIER:  I am not a reel repair person so I will describe exactly what I see and tell you only what I “think” might be the problem.
As mentioned above, all functions work great, except the bail mechanism.  You can take your hand and easily move the bail back-and-forth, but it will not catch in the cast position nor return back to the retrieve position when turning the handle.  Here's what I "think" is wrong.  I believe the spring for the bail is broken, it's not there, or is out of position as the bail has no spring action at all when moving it with your hand.   If you get the bail to work, this will be a great fishing reel!
