    Description

    Offering a vintage WALTCO ny-o-lite spinning reel as a collection/decor piece; however, could still be used for fishing. Made completely out of Nylon, including the gears, excluding the bail, main shaft, 1 drag washer and screws. Sometime during the 50's (55 or 56) Dupont helped start up WALTCO as a promotional gimmick for their new Zytel Nylon. Advertised to be as tough as steel. As a result several other companies turned to Dupont too manufacture Nylon gears. Turned out Nylon is not as durable as steel and the trend died out.
    Mechanically everything works as designed.
    Cosmetics, rough, see pics. Was in my painting pile; but, I simply don't have the time for them all.
